Fisheries Management - Pacific Region - AREA 14
Seines open between 08:30 and 08:45 hrs March 4, 2009 until further notice in
Subareas 14-8 and 14-15 described as the waters of Baynes Sound from Mapleguard
Point to Chrome Island and Longbeak Point to Union Point. The quota for the
area is 5,763 tons.

Area 14 - March 6, 2009
Gillnets open 10:00 hours March 6, 2009 until further notice in Subareas 14-1
to 14-13, 14-15. The Strait of Georgia gillnet fishery closed 18:00 hrs
March 8, 2009. Preliminary catch estimate is 4,138 tons.

As the fishery closed, the furry critters and feathered friends who all celebrate the arrival of the silvery little herring,
gathered to collect their share of fish and roe. And so my favourite annual event came to a close for another year.
