A brilliant portrait, Jude -- made so by a double stoppage in time. He was frozen in time many years ago, and now you do the same for him now, only he still clings to what he once was, and seems very accepting of that. The quality of light is nostalgic as well, and the contrast between the black and color images is startling. It is a series of juxtapositions: then and now, reality and fantasy, black and white vs color, vertical vs horizontal. It reminds me of Steve McCurry's "reunion shot" with the Afghan woman who was his subject in one of the most famous portraits of all time.
