I do not know the details of Greg's death, but I am told it was related to a traffic accident.
I am sure there are many who knew Greg better than I did. What I remember most when we were kids
was his haircut. In our family we were never allowed to have long hair. I remember Greg's hair
exactly as it looks in this photo with the part over to one side. Several times during the school year
I saw him at the doctor's office since we both had seasonal allergies and we both got desensitization
shots at the same clinic. Getting allergy shots was no fun, but having another kid in the class
to comissurate with always seemed to make it a little bit easier. I think our moms always felt a
little sorry for us, so we would hit them up for a quarter each and then go down to the lower
level of the medical center where they had vending machines. They were the kind of vending machines
where the candy and chips were in a glass compartment. After you make your choice the floor of the
compartment flipped back and the item exited through the back and into a trough where you could
retrieve it. That was always the high point of the trip to the doctor's office.
