Could this be the location of a spring that feed Big Lake?

This apparent excavation is adjacent to the left boarder of the prior image, just
off US 67, in a turn around. It is said by some that a spring once feed Big Lake and in the 1920-30's dynamited
to provide improved access for oil drilling plus additional grazing. To date I've not found historical proof of this
particular event. However, around 2000 the mayor of Big Lake promoted a project to drill to underground water
for the purpose of refilling Big Lake. It has been said the project was voted down, by whom under what circumstances remain unclear.
