Here is an other shot from rundelborg in kungsor. Perhaps I
should tell you why it´s called "Rundelborg". Well first we
have to look on some words hiden in the name. The frist part
in (Rundel)borg referes to the word rundel wich in this case
is an other word for labourint. On this ground there is a
round labourint made of stones on the ground. According to
the history books the queen Kristina of Sweden once used to
ride out to this place and ride in the stone labourint. The
other part of the name Rundel(borg) refers to the swedish
word borg wich means fort. It is said that one of our kings,
I think it was Johan III, once wanted to build a castle up on
this high ground and it was planed to bee in the shape of a cross.
However, the caastle never got built but they had allready dug the
cellar ground so there is a big hole in the ground in the shape of
a cross. This relly helps to get an idea of how big the castle
would have been if they had built it. I don´t know why they didn´t.
If I was a king I would certenly build my castle up here :) I will
try to post some shots displaying what I am talking about so you
can get an idea of how it looks like.
