C-5 Galaxy, early morning, Patrick Air Force Base

C-5 Galaxy parked on the tarmac in preparation for an air show later in the day. Since I would be 'working' the air show, I was able to get out onto the tarmac a couple hours before the rest of the world (and boy, did they come!).

Perfect shot, especially with the crewman walking out to it.

Very nicely done -- I like the light and mist surrounding the plane as well as the figure, giving a hint of its size. When I lived in Okinawa I was fascinated by the C5 and always wanted a chance to photograph one up close (promised by my Air Force friends, but it just never worked out). BTW thank you for your comment on my Dubai gallery! Helen

Having walked these wings, and baby sat this airplane on many a cold night from Dover, to Germany, to Japan... I must say, this is one of the finest shots I have seen of FRED.
Would you consider sending me a larger file so I can put it on my desktop.
Many Thanks.

Thank you! These type of shots are why I like to volunteer for the airshows - I get plenty of time to get shots before the crowds swarm in.

Beautiful shot, Mike. I love the composition and how the light falls on the C-5.
