I see what you intend here, Jenene, but it does not read well for me. You are showing big chairs and a small boat, and the colors in both are blue and white. The problem is perceptual. We are used to seeing close things large and distant things small, so your scale incongruity does not strike us as incongruous. Now look at my own attempt at scale incongruity using a similar subject: a small boat athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/28253073 In this shot, I don't compare a small boat to two big chairs. I compare it to the hull of a huge aircraft carrier. I abstract that aircraft carrier to make it appear even larger. And for a final twist, the boat is a security vessel -- the little boat is keeping the big boat secure. I think a lot depends on what elements you place into juxtaposition. In this case, the little boat did not say very much when compared to four large, softly focused chairs. In the case of my concept, the scale incongruity is not there for its own sake -- it goes on the make a point.
