Mr. Burton Marsh invited a few hundred of his friends to celebrate his ninety-first birthday at his rural home in Madison County, AL. Burton has amassed an incredible collection of stationary steam, diesel and gasoline engines, as well as a few antique tractors, automobiles, trucks (including near-by Athens Alabama's first gasoline powered fire engine, a 1924 American LaFrance, that was acquired to fight chemical fires), and boats (including one paddle-wheel steamboat). His collection represents the essence of the Industrial Revolution, as America raced toward maturity and the opening of the twentieth century.
