UGC 09977 galaxy type Sc: edge-on in Serpens Caput. This galaxy is listed in the “Revised Flat Galaxy
Catalogue”. It is often included in lists of superthin galaxies with an axial ratio of 10.7, although
it does seem to have a much broader appearance than other galaxies in this class. Taken over several
nights in June 2017. Imaged with Starlight Xpress’ SX-825 camera and a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 at f10,
on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. The L subframes were 12 minutes binned 1x1, while the RGB subframes
were 4 minutes binned 2x2 resulting in the following total exposures L:R:G:B (min) = 336 : 60: 56 :

PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
