A couple Teles

a few years back (13) I saw a used Korean made Squier Pro-Tone Tele for sale, cheap, and bought it. Someone had done a horrid refinish on it and tossed the original guard. It had a nice solid one piece ash body though so I decided it was worth resurrecting. I stripped it and refinished it in nitro lacquer. At the time I was also building a Tele for myself with an ash body and maple neck. I had just seen Bruce's Tour 99 and was inspired by his. It was advantageous to do them both at the same time. I would up selling the protone to a friend, later buying it back and selling it again for more on eBay. The other Tele I sold to another friend along with my other Tele home built project, the pix of which have more than made the rounds for years. He still has them both. This one though sports a bootleg Fender logo though he's aware of the illegitimacy. My goal was not to forge a Fender but rather to replicate Bruce's Esquire.
