The Memphis Belle 2001

The Memphis Belle, when it used to be at Mud Island in Memphis.
The B-17 Flying Fortress was built in Seattle and named in honor of Margaret Polk, the sweetheart of Captain Robert Morgan, who named it the “Memphis Belle." It was the first U.S. bomber to complete 25 missions over enemy territory during WWII. In October of 2005 it was moved to the National Museum of the USAF at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio where it is currently under restoration.
