I bought this from my friend Pete last year (2001) and Mark Kendrick of the Fender Custom shop put me in touch with friends of his at the Guild Custom Shop in Nashville (Thane Shearon and John Kornau) to refinish it to its original Gold. Sorry to say the finish has not held up well and started cracking almost immediately. This is the very same model that Scotty Moore played his first year recording and touring with Elvis Presley and is the actual guitar I feature on the main page of his website at Scottymoore.net. I was fortunate to have him sign a truss cover.
I have 1954-1955(?) ES295 with a custom factory finish ONE OF A KIND any idea what it might be worth or where I could find out. I have already spoken with Scotty Moore and he thinks it may be Roy's, Johhny's or Carl Perkins...? I would love to find out!
