Mount St. Helens

It was very foggy on the day that this image was made. It was almost as if we were visiting right after the explosion of May 18, 1980 when the mountain was ripped apart and the trees rendered to groves of leafless sticks.

I had a hard time framing this one. I took multiple images, but none of them really turned out the way I wanted. I wished there was a way to better capture the atmosphere of that day - the devestation shrouded in fog - but I couldn't quite get it. I will look through the other images I took that day and see if maybe there is something that includes the full length of the burned out tree trunks.

Jaime, I love this image of Mount St. Helens. This is my kind of photo... moody and delicate. Just out of curiosity, I wonder what the photo would have looked like if you would have included the tops of the trees in the upper right hand corner?? Alas, nice photo! B-Real
