Wow, that's something else. Having been struck by a side charge of lighting years ago it always amazes me to see this kind of photo. A storm had just left an amusement park we were at and there were bright blue skies. The lighting came out of nowhere, the main charge struck a huge tree behind me. The tree exploded and I was glued to the ground. I could see my husband with one son. He was covering their heads from all the exploding wood. I had my other son. My husband said my hair was standing on end and I could not move. Someone came and grabbed my son from me and took him to safety. When I could finally move I ran to him. We all survived. Several people were taken to the hospital, mostly hurt from the parts of the tree that landed on them. We were so lucky, all we wanted to do was get out of there. I have a healthy respect for storms and lighting! V
