The hotel package comes with a traditional Japanese dinner. They have this mini rice cooker lit when the dinner starts. The fire is very small but it really cooks the rice. It took about 25 mins to cook it. May be the rice is already half cooked beforehand, the 'one the table' cooking is just letting the flavor of other ingredients to simmer with the rice.
