Pertisau am Achensee

Pertisau on Lake Achen captivates visitors with its blend of tradition and modernity, warm hospitality, and unique natural experiences. Located on the western shore of Lake Achen, Pertisau lies directly at the foot of the Karwendel Nature Park , Austria's largest nature park and one of Europe's most beautiful mountain hiking areas. Pertisau is also home to the main landing stage for the Achensee boat service and the production site of the renowned Tyrolean Stone Oil® , which is extracted at the stone oil works in the Karwendel mountains and subsequently processed into exceptional skincare products. At the Tyrolean Stone Oil Vitalberg, the stone oil museum in Pertisau, visitors can learn all about the extraction and processing of Tyrolean Stone Oil® from the Bächental valley. Pertisau has been known as a recreational area since the mid-19th century and is the oldest tourist resort in the region. Even Emperor Maximilian found one of his favorite hunting grounds in the majestic mountain landscape.
