Plettsaukopf Reservoir is a tranquil beach located high above Zell am See, offering spectacular views of the Pinzgau valley and Zeller Lake. The beach is known for its crystal clear waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming, especially on warm, sunny days. The beach is also a popular destination for hikers, with marked footpaths leading up to it.
The beach is accessible via a short walk on footpath 53 or 55 from the Gasthof Mittlestation, located at the top of the CityXpress lift. The journey from Zell am See to the beach is approximately 1-1.5 hours on foot, but the return journey is significantly quicker. Alternatively, visitors can take a cable car to a station nearby and then walk for around 30 minutes to reach the beach.
