The Schwarzsee is located 2 km from Kitzbühel on the Brixental road towards Kirchberg in Tirol, with a stop on the Salzburg-Tyrol Railway line. It has an area of ​​0.16 km² and a maximum depth of 7 m. Its altitude is 762 m above sea level.In summer, it is a popular swimming lake. Triathlon World Cup races were held here in 2007 and 2008. In winter, when the ice is thick enough , it is possible to walk on the lake, ice skate, and play Bavarian curling.
The Schwarzsee has a circumference of approximately two kilometers.
