Casa Vicens

Casa Vicens was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005 and remains one of Gaudí's most striking works. Perhaps because many of the ideas found here resonate with very contemporary concerns: the relationship between architecture and nature, the importance of natural light, the use of handcrafted materials, and the search for more humane spaces.
And perhaps that's why this first house by Gaudí still seems so modern today. Because behind its colors, its oriental feel, and its decorative exuberance, there already existed a profoundly contemporary idea: that a house can be more comfortable, more beautiful, and more vibrant when it works with nature, and not against it.
