Between 1905 and 1907, the first funicular railway in Engadine was built here by Von Roll. Although modernised on many occasions, it has essentially remained the same to this day – just like the view of the Upper Engadine lakeland including St. Moritz, the Piz Palü and the Piz Bernina with its white Biancograt ridge.A funicular railway takes over the 700-meter climb from Punt Muragl up to the Muottas Muragl for all scenic lovers – accompanied in the upper section by sun collectors that cover the energy requirements of the mountain dwelling in an environmentally friendly way. In winter, Muottas Muragl is now a playground for sledgers, snowshoe hikers and connoisseurs. In winter, Muottas Muragl is now a playground for sledgers, snowshoe hikers and connoisseurs.
