Maximilianstrasse in Regensburg , usually shortened to Maxstrasse , was built after 1810 in the area of the southeastern old town, which was badly damaged by the Battle of Regensburg . It is an almost 1 km long street that runs from north to south and is atypical for the old town of Regensburg. It is dead straight and unusually wide. The street connects the cathedral square and the neighboring Old Kornmarkt with the train station and thus offers a direct route to Regensburg's old town .
