The history of this "house at the Maintor on the Bachmauer", formerly three houses, can be traced back to the economic heyday of the market town at the beginning of the 18th century. The property got its present form after a renovation in 1774.The house once benefited from the favorable traffic situation, the market visitors coming from the east and north could not miss it. The spice trade flourished in this house.Since the extensive restoration in 1991, the Malerwinkel has served as a museum.
