Today's development of the property is the remainder of an extensive courtyard. Major urban changes between about 1900 and the 1970s only left the front building facing the street of the former courtyard. Its structural stock was mainly created in the years 1607ff. and some later modification phases. Similar to the neighboring house, the even more magnificent Haus zum Stockfisch, it is the house of a wealthy merchant of the Renaissance period, which is still clearly recognizable both in terms of building typology and design.The reason for the thesis is the current problem of bringing the building, which has only been used as a warehouse for decades, back to a more demanding use.
