The mandarin duck, of which only two adult specimens were known in the Banyoles lake until now, is adapting very well to this space. In this year's winter waterfowl census, organized by the naturalist organization Limnos, 15 have been located (attributed to two pairs), an unprecedented fact from which it can be deduced that they are already breeding in this territory. This is a exotic species but it cannot be considered invasive, since at the moment there is no evidence that it is harming other birds nor is it feared that it could be so in the short term, taking into account that its population is small, at the moment.
