The work, located next to the Paseo Marítimo on the access road to the Old City, was carried out by Bonaventura Ansón ( a local artist) in 1998.The sculpture, made of bronze, symbolizes the representation of the generational change embodied in the figures of a girl and an old man on a bench.
An attached plaque reads this poem:
“Ten hooks of tempered steel
fire of sweat roar of salt water
wings become oars
of his boat, silver seagull
Above the old velvet
a ray of sun goes away
as he goes into the night
they take me to my crib”
