Can Planiol
Work of the architect Ignasi Mas Morell, from 1910, commissioned by Ramon Planiol for his brother José. The architect and Ramon Planiol, "the American", were friends who made a trip together to Havana, where the architect resided for a time (1907 to 1910). There he revalidated his title of architect and built the College of Notaries and a house for the Planiols. When he returned to Catalonia, Ignasi Mas Morell held the position of municipal architect of Sant Pol.The house is a new example of modernist architecture in the style of Mas Morell of the first period: a ground floor house and two floors between partitions, with a very ornate facade and where the balcony with large stepped posters stands out. The main protagonist of the facade is the color, which is given by the entire tile and trencadís. Blue, red and white, sprinkled with maroon flowers, cover the entire facade.
