Siena

Siena lies in the picturesque Tuscan hills south of Florence, which was throughout much of the city's history its chief competitor for wealth and power. Siena began to prosper in the 12th century and reached its artistic zenith in the 13th and 14th centuries, when its artists rivaled those of Florence. The cathedral and palaces of Siena, most of them built of brick made from the local red clay, are outstanding monuments of Gothic architecture. As you explore the many tourist attractions in Siena's beautiful Centro Storico, the historic old town, be prepared to do a lot of walking, most of it uphill - or so it may seem.

Love this. It reminds me of a time A flight to Prague went over Italy in the middle of the day. I thought I must go, but in the end made it to Sicily only. Hopefully a time will come again when this is possible.

Did you take this beautiful view from the Duomo's unfinished wall? A beautiful town to walk in, and sometimes you do get to walk down a hill after the walk up.

Very nice perspective and capture of all these beautiful old roofs. I bet you are glad you went there when you did. I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this pandemic. ~BV~
