A great clear image of the plaque and thank you to Walter for the translation. It is also an appeal to us to never let this happen again.

This plaque is depressing. i hope that history doesn't repeat itself. My feeling...given a Depression in the US, Trump is very capable of this in my not so humble opinion.

Thus begins a new era of Nazi German culture, a stain on humanity!

Great that you included this. The Römerberg is not only a tourist destination, but was also the site of book burning. The words read:
"On this spot on May 10, 1933, National Socialist students burned books of novelists, scientists, publicists and philosophers."
and around the outside:"This was a prelude. Where one burns books, one will in the end burn humans."

Excellent detail in this fine capture! Lets hope something like that never ever happens again!
