The most impressive of Bremen's courthouses is the heritage-listed Altes Gerichtshaus, which is richly adorned with allegorical decorations. Justice has been dispensed in this building with its striking towers since 1895.Nowadays the building is not just a venue for legal matters, but also for celebrations: the Hofbräuhaus offers traditional Bavarian food, drink and exuberance.The adjacent Polizeihaus (police house) still contains a police station, but since it ceased to be the police headquarters it has also become home to the central library, where you can borrow books, music and even works of art.
