Hall of Mirrors
The Mirrored Salon is one of the areas for circulation during the intervals. It is characterised by the style, the mirrors and paintings. The ceiling paintings are copies by Josep Mestres Cabanes of the originals painted by Josep Mirabent. They represent the god Apollo on his throne with the nine muses. The portraits are of playwrights, composers, singers, dancers, etc. In the upper part of the Salon are also unusual texts referring to art and music.The Mirrored Salon is an interval area of 354 m2 saved from the fire of 1994 and carefully restored. It is on the first floor of the Theatre. It is a part of the Theatre where the atmosphere of the old Liceu survives intact.
