Golden Staircase in Burgos Cathedral
Built in 1523 by Diego de Siloe, the Golden Stairway is in the north transept of Burgos Cathedral and the gilt-iron balustrade is by Master Hilario, inspired by Italian Renaissance models.Located in the north transept of the cathedral, liaises the inside the temple with the door Coronerķa, at a greater level than that. Siloam in this his first work in Spain, applied the lesson learned in Italy architecture of Bramante, organizing a monumental structure in the bottom of the stairs, with one initial shot, it splits into two parallel to the wall background after two separate landings amounted counterclockwise to reach the door. The structure is enriched with the opening of three funeral niches and a magnificent plateresque railing.
