On the eastern side of the cathedral at the Plaza de San Fernando opens the remarkable
Puerta del Sarmental. One of the best examples of Gothic sculptures from the 13th c. in Spain. The tympanum probably sculpted by a French artist shows similarities with the one of Amiens.
It is by this door that tourists have access to the cathedral.Left of this door, which is reached by two flights of stairs, one can visit the cathedral's museum of religious art located in the chapter House and in some chapels.
