Of the many traditions maintained in Zamora, pottery-making occupies first place. Villages like Moveros and Pereruela follow the same guidelines as years ago to make a very special pottery. In both areas, it was the women who were in charge of modelling and baking the pieces (but not more). The pottery from Moveros, whitish-ochre in colour, is good for keeping water fresh and cool, while the pottery from Pereruela, heat-resistant clay pieces, is used for cooking.
