The building serves as an office for Hjejleselskabet, which, among other things, operates the excursion boat service between Silkeborg Harbour and Himmelbjerget. Built in 1911, Hjejlekiosken's romantic, Swiss half-timbered style was reminiscent of cosiness, excursions and holidays. Similar buildings can be seen here in Silkeborg in the old sanatoria. Silkeborg’s coat of arms designed by Anton Rosen can be seen on the building.
