Aarhus. ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum

ARoS Aarhus Museum of Art was inaugurated 7 April 2004. It was designed by the Aarhusian architectural firm Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen and shaped like a cube with a ground plan measuring 52 x 52 m and a height of 43 m. Inside it has no less than nine floors making up 17,700 m2, which makes it one of the largest museums in Northern Europe. The museum has a 7,000 m2 exhibition area. Its own collections of almost 9,000 pieces are divided among three large galleries; one for ‘Golden Age/Modernism’, one for ‘Modern Art’ and one for ‘Contemporary Art’. In addition, there are the so-called ‘9 Rooms’ on the lower floor, which are reserved for international light-, video- and installation art. Each year, ARoS launches large internationally oriented exhibitions in the large special exhibition gallery and a couple of smaller special exhibitions in the West Gallery.

It looks like a framed painting with the white area framing it. Great optical illusion. V
