The imposing Nauener Tor with its two round towers is one of the three city gates still standing in Potsdam. It was completed in 1755. At the time, the street passing through it went on towards the town of Nauen in the north. The Nauen Gate has a special place in architectural history: it is regarded as the earliest example of Gothic Revival architecture on the European mainland.
