La Fageda d’en Jordà is a beautiful beech forest with a special place in the Catalan consciousness thanks to the poem written by Joan Maragall at the begginning of the 20th century. Its fame comes also, probably, because it’s one of the very few beech forests in Catalonia. Nevertheless, its beauty is exceptional, perfect to expend a nice time with all the family.
The forest sits on a lava flow from the Croscat volcano which brings a soft wavy landscape with little hills of 20m high. It’s placed right by Santa Margarida and Croscat volcanoes, making a hike by the three sights an easy and pleasant walk. You can visit the little Romanesque church of Sant Miquel de Sacot (11th century), located in the outskirts of the forest.
