In a padrock close to the confluence of the rivers Guadalaviar and Alfanbra, is the city of Teruel, lying at more than nine hundred meters above sea level. Within its walled ground, the traveller can appreciate one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. The city preserves a historical urban center which is worth to be visited.
The main artery of the town, starting from La Ronda de Ambeles and going along El Tozal, goes through the Plaza del Torico y Plaza de la Catedral and continuous towards El Ovalo, La Glorieta, and the two bridges (Viaductos) . It is an area with a lot of shops, offices and hotel and restaurant services. There are also architectural wonders such as the Provincial Museum, that time ago was the house of the historical Community of Teruel, El Salvador Tower, Modernist buildings or The neo-mudejar style Escalinata(Staircase). The fountain in La Plaza Del Torico is the emblematic place where visitors take photos to give evidence of their visit and in this same Plaza the underground medieval cistern can be seen.
