Mürren, a unique, continually settled village that lies at 1650 meters, high above the Lauterbrunnen valley. A cable car from the valley gives spectacular views of waterfalls, stopping in Stechelberg before gently swinging to a stop in Mürren. Many people continue via cable car to the top of the Schilthorn, which, at 2970 meters, has the revolving restaurant where the Bond film “On her Majesty’s Secret Service” was filmed, unfortunately clouds began forming at the top when I arrived in Mürren and I saw in the webcam that visibility was ZERO up there, so it would be a waste of time and money.
