The Main Square is the traditional place of meeting in Caceres. Along the history, it has had several uses and names: place of the fair, market square…, often it was used for bullfighting or to hold tournaments; parades military and processions of Holy Week had passed through it. It is surrounded by arcades and the most important building is the City Hall, built in 1869 by Ignacio María de Michelena. Here, it can be seen emblematic monuments like the Torre de la Hierba (Grass Tower), the Torre de los Púlpitos (Púlpitos Tower) and specially the Torre de Bujaco (Bujaco Tower) next to the Chapel of Peace.
