Toledo. School of Arts and Crafts, constitutes a magnificent example of integration of a modern building into a historic town without breaking the harmony of the surrounding area.
Toledo School, along with Cordoba and Granada, were created on 8 July 1881. On this date and published in the Gaceta de Madrid of the following day, we find a Royal Order of King Alfonso XII,
directing the Department of Public Instruction bases a regulation for the establishment of this center in the building of San Juan de los Reyes Monastery. The Order refers to two aspects: on the one hand
the restoration of the building of the Royal Monastery. so impaired from disasters of war and the arson of 1809. that had destroyed much of the cloister and the stained glass windows and the altar of
the church.
