In a peaceful district, this church has a Flemish Baroque façade with three bodies (1676). Inside, the exuberant decoration is placed over a Gothic structure. Above the large arcades, the entablature rests, at the junction of the arches, on the heads of winged angels. You can admire the paintings by Van Loon and different Flemish artists. The neighbouring Beguine convent, which used to have up to 1,200 nuns, disappeared in the 19C.
