Capilla de San José

The Church of San Jose is quite small but it is a good example of the Baroque style in Seville. The church is full of art. The church was started in 1699 by the architect Pedro Romero and finished in 1766. The main altar was the work of Cayetano de Acosta and with sculptures made by Pedro Duque Cornejo. The sculpture of San Joaquin on the façade was also the work of Pedro Duque Cornejo.

Lovely image of old Spanish architecture juxtaposed with more modern commercial construction.

Beautiful presentation of the church, when viewed from this narrow walkway.

Love the juxtaposition of the new with the old building. Beautiful carvings on the church. Looks like it has art out and in!
