Haro. Iglesia de Santo Tomás

Listed as a building of Cultural Interest since June 1931, this church is located at the feet of the La Mota hill (today known as “La Atalaya”) which was the primitive site of Haro. This majestic building and its complex construction history dates back to 1535 when it was decided to demolish the former church and build a new Late Gothic style church. It has a “Hallen kirche” base, defined under the German term meaning “Hall Church” with three naves of equal height and no transept. It is an unmodified rectangle. In the chancel the ashlar work from the end of the 17TH century can be seen and the magnificent Iberian organ dated 1798 by the organ maker Domingo Garagalza.
