Engadine is divided into two regions, lower and upper, both served by trains from Chur. In the valley of the River Inn (or En), which gives Engadine its name, the contrast between the ancient villages and the ultramodern resorts is striking. The old villages are made up of sturdy stone houses with their unique and beautiful sgraffiti decorations.
