Saint-Roch is located along the Rue Saint-Honoré, in a now prestigious district that started to thrive during the 18th century.
Saint-Roch replaced a chapel built in the early 16th century and dedicated to Sainte-Suzanne, the patron saint of market gardeners and tile makers.

At the end of the 16th century the chapel was dedicated to Saint-Roch, the saint protector from the plague, as the overcrowded district was a permanent source of infection.
