The power of the Pacific Ocean at Egg Island is breathtaking.
In the left-centre of this photo, you can see the supports of the
old bridge to the main part of the island. The bridge and much
of the lightstation itself, were destroyed by monster seas during
a late-Autumn storm in 1948. Read about it here:
