November 28, 2007

It's been a while since I've taken some pictures (other then last nights of the fill panel). I thought I'd explain why.
I've been putting off scanning in old family photos. It takes 6-8 minutes per photo to preview, scan and save. Some of the photos are odd sized negitives or slides. It's tidious work for sure.
So I've put the camera aside as I spend time going through table tops of slides, negitives and photos. I'll try to get a few recent pictures going again, I promise.

this photo is one of my brothers. After scanning I ran it through some auto steps for color & levels. Did not come out perfectly but is better.

If anyone has some suggestions about scanning, I welcome them.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I did the same thing as you with my Mom's old family photos from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. You did a good job of the color correction. Not sure why old photos always have that pinkish cast. Was this originally taken in the late 50's to early 60's?
It reminds me of some old pictures of my brother and I :)

I think your time spent will be worth it - this image supports that. Just need to keep at it! And yes, all of the odd sizes are a real pain!

Huge change in the pic with your processing. Snow really got white. Nice work.
