Ahhh, Fall time in New England.
The changing colors, the crisp air, the smell in the air, ahhh it's a great time in New England, till you realize the real meaning to "Fall". The falling of the leaves. The raking of the leaves, the back pain, the dust you in-hale, the brown bags that collapse as you try to fill them with the fallen leaves.
Wouldn't have it any other way. I feel blessed to have been born and raised in New England. But, for the past month, I've been enjoying the sights of the ever changing colors and now is time to pick them up, bummer. It seems too short and not enough time to be able to take it all in.
I pity those that live in the climates that don't have the change in seasons like we do.

I want to add that I have enjoyed the many fantastic Autum pictures that people are sharing on Pbase. Those pictures have instilled in me a greater desire to not only appreciate the Autumn season but to explore the area even more for those special shots. Thank you - thank you all.

I have to say I stumbled on your pics.. not sure how. I did a search for Lewiston Maine in google. My dad is turning 75 in August and he was born in Maine so trying to recreate a bit of his childhood in the party we're throwing so I am looking for pictures to give me ideas.... That being said the comment below this picture really struck me... I/we live in Arizona now, I was born in MA but we moved when I was about 3 (30 years ago) sooo I have not spent a lot of time back east but seeing pictures like this I sure tend to think I missed out, also what a wonderful place my dad must have grown up in. You are VERY right to be thankful for being able to see the seasons change in my opinion, although we have better "winters" than you temperature wise (summers are brutal) I can imagine it is magical to see the leaves turn and fall and then everything grow back in the spring. Anyway just thought you would like 2 cents from someone in one of those climates that does not have season changes :)

Take care, I love all your pictures, you are a wonderful photographer!
