The Church of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin, built of brick, was erected in 1695. After 1951, when Uhniv was incorporated from Poland to the Soviet Union, it was used as a warehouse, then abandonned.
Now it is completely ruined, two baroque cuppolas fell down from the towers in the last few years.
Uhniv (Ukrainian: Угнів, Polish: Uhnów, Yiddish: הובנוב) is a little town in Lviv Oblast (province) of Ukraine.
It is situated in former Eastern Galicia, or Western Ukraine, some 18 kilometers north of Rava Ruska, on the right bank of the Solokia River.
